Two Months!

I can't believe that Taylor is two months old. The time really flies when everyday is a new adventure. I think we are starting to get in to more of a routine although we are never surprised when the routine goes right out the window! Taylor is developing her own little personality and is more fun everyday as she gets stronger and more interactive. She loves music and gets so excited in the morning when we get dressed and listen to her songs. Taylor continues to be pleasant most of the time although she goes through a witching hour every night around 7 or 8 and there is not much that can be done to make her happy. We are making some progress in the sleeping department though. The last five nights she has slept in her bassinet all night. She still gets up to eat once in the middle of the night but after a quick feed she has been going right back to sleep. I am hesitant to consider this a new routine because I know that tonight could be a completely different story so for now I will just consider it a wonderful few nights of sleep!

Almost daily over the last two months one of us has asked the other, "do you believe we have her?" We have spent a lot of time starring at her in awe of much love we have and realizing how lucky we are! Happy 2 Months Taylor!

Memorial Day weekend

We had a great weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I was excited to get outside and do a little gardening... Taylor and Emma kept me company!

We also went to a few picnics and Taylor got to meet some new family and friends. Here she is posing with Great Grandmom.

Perhaps the most important experience of the weekend for Taylor was her first cigar with PopPop!

Cousins...

Taylor spent some time with her cousin Nolan at Aunt Jen and Uncle Dave's house while we helped make wedding invitations.

She was pretty impressed by Jen and Dave's creative abilities as you can see by her cheers!

What to do?

So this seems to be the only way that Taylor will sleep for more then 20 minutes... when she is on our chest we actually have to wake her up to feed her. With this being the case I have spent many nights the last seven weeks on the couch with her. It is so nice to cuddle and spend this time together but what will we do when she is 12? Oh, and there is also the issue of her being on her stomach sleeping... which whenever I bring this up to anyone I am reminded that I, as well as everyone I know slept on their stomach. I still feel like I am breaking some sort of law by doing this everynight!

Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was wonderful. Mike and Taylor treated me very well... Mike made a nice breakfast and then hung with Taylor so that I could shower without having to entertain her while doing so. It was a real treat! Mike also gave me pink roses as well as aquamarine (Taylor's birthstone) earings... they are beautiful. Mike's plan is for Taylor to wear them on her wedding day to fullfill the "something blue"... we like to plan ahead! We spent the afternoon at Gram and Grandpop's house and then came home and spent the evening with Maddie, Uncle Mike, and Aunt Holly. The first seven weeks of motherhood has been more then I could ask for and I feel so lucky to have Taylor in my life!

Puppy Love

Emma has been adjusting well to no longer being number one in our house. She is very protective of Taylor and doesn't leave her side very often...

Broad Street Run

Taylor, Maddie, and I went to the Broad Street Run today to cheer on Mike, Aunt Jen, Uncle Dave and our friends, Katie, Liz, Dawn, and Julia. Getting out of the house was tough because Taylor decided to spit up, poop, and pee on herself during a "quick" diaper change just before leaving... at least she got herself completely emptied out before the long car ride.

I was very excited to dress her in in her Addidas outfit, which we bought for her when we found out we were having a little girl. Unfortunately Mike didn't get to see how cute she was at the race because we never saw him run by... murphy's law I guess... we did see everyone else we set out to cheer on though!

After a long day in the in the car seat Taylor was excited to get home and play on her mat!

And finally, a well deserved nap...

Baby Nolan

Aunt Lynn, Uncle Jim, and Tyler welcomed Nolan in to the world on Saturday. He is adorable and everyone is happy and healthy.

Spike

Taylor is losing her hair and now has a mowhawk (it must be her Indian roots). We think it is adorable... although not forever!

Gram's Birthday Party

We celebrated Gram's birthday last Sunday and Taylor got to meet her Great Grandmom for the first time. Taylor really seemed to enjoy her arms!
